Decorate this Holiday with Purpose!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.............

The smell of the holidays are in the air. I love driving down the street listening to the holiday songs on the radio, seeing all of the holiday decorations and lights.  This year decorate with purpose!  

There are some key points you should consider when decorating your home with purpose.  

 

1. Color Scheme

This is one of the most important things when decorating. You can use many different colors all together but make sure they compliment each other.

2. Themes

There are tons of themes to choose from.  Pick one and follow that theme throughout your home. (Ex.North Pole, Rustic, Retro Chic, Ice Palace)

3. Keep It Green

Being environmentally savvy is extremely important throughout the year. Those hefty electric bills can put a damper on Holiday activities and bring about unnecessary stress. 

- Use solar or battery operated lights

- Put those holiday candles to use.

- incorporate plants in your design 

- recycle old and make them new again.

4. Incorporate reminders of Love and Happiness with your pillows, wall decals, mistletoe and ornaments.

A Vision Board Can Change Your Life!

Welcome to Joie de Design's Blog!  I am delighted to have your attention.  My name is Monique Ireland and I want to know  who wants to have a fabulous life?  I sure do.  Well I plan to blog about all things that could help to make your life as fabulous as you want it to be.  First topic of discussion is vision boards.  Do you have one?  If not, now is the time to create one and I will tell you why...... 


A vision board usually consists of pictures and phrases combined in a collage like manner on a board.  Mainly your board can have anything you would want on it.  Not just any pictures and phrases but ones that describe your life's ambitions.  For example, mine has phrases like" limitless"," workout", "$"," career", "spiritual", and "design" on it. It is said that having a vision board helps to activate the Laws of Attraction.  This simply means that we attract things we pay attention to the most.  So make sure you put your vision board in a location that you can see it daily.  This is a great place to put all of those New Years resolutions that we tend to drop by the waist side.  Train your mind to build your future!
