Celebrity Homes

Most of us love to see what celebrities are doing, what they are wearing and whatt is going on in their lives.  They can inspire us and sometimes disappoint us.  Let's check out how they are living and see if they are making a passing grade.

Evelyn from the reality tv show Basketball Wives recenty added these sheik drapes to her humble abode. I like the chandalier.  Makes a great statement piece.  I will give this an S for satisfactory since I can't see the rest of the room.

Will an Jada's pad. Great space planning and nice flow.  Love the punch of color.   A++

Kim from Atlanta Housewives home.  Everyone should get a professional pic of themselves blown up and placed on a wall in their home. The chest is nice but I'm not sure if that was the right place for it to go. A-

Dwight from the housewives of Atlanta.  I like everything except the coffee table. B+

Textures to Sooth the Soul

Adding texture in your home can simply be achieved by using different fabrics and textiles, including items with varying dimensions and having multiple prints, patterns and layering fabrics.  Textures help you define the type of lifestyle and character you want your rooms to exude.  One of the easiest ways to add textures is by adding different fabrics throughout; leathers, linens, chenilles, velvets, chiffon, wools and much more.

For me, texture embodies all things that trigger our senses.  A room that gets alot of traffic should have great colors, sensational fabrics, eye catching prints, pleasant smells, soft sounds and even a sweet treat.

Check out these ideas to add texture to your room.

Here is a chevron patterned throw rug that would look fantastic paired with another pattern on a throw pillow or curtain that has the same hue of yellow grey and off white. It's like wearing a printed wrap dress with a different printed belt. It works! http://www.etsy.com/

Textured paint is a great way to add character to your walls.
